Directions:
From Sparta, go EAST on Highway 21 to Gate 15 of the Fort.
From Tomah, go WEST on Highway 21 to Gate 15.
Gate 15 is not marked on Highway 21. There is a street sign that says S 10th Avenue, that is the street Gate 15 is on. The Gate is between the Main Gate and the road to Gate 20. Enter WI State Patrol Academy into your GPS and that will get you to us.
When you arrive at Gate 15, pull to the side of the road and wait for a Ridercoach to open the gate. When you enter the gate, proceed to the first road to the right and enter the Range
Any time that you are on Ft McCoy you may be required to produce a PICTURE ID, your vehicle registration and proof of insurance, have them available. When asked about your purpose to be on the base, tell them you are going to the State Patrol Academy for the motorcycle safety classes.
Bring all your riding gear. Don’t forget the gloves and your picture ID and driver’s license.

Basic RiderCourse (BRC)

How to Succeed in the Basic RiderCourse:

Only the MSF ePackage1 eCourse is accepted for your Basic RiderCourse. No other eCourses are acceptable.

We will send you an email with your information for the ePackage1 about 30 days prior to the riding portion of your course

We highly recommend that you print them out and use them to find your way. Be properly dressed for the riding sessions. The required clothing and footwear are:

Helmet (If you have your own DOT-compliant helmet you're welcome to bring it. Otherwise, we will lend you one.

If you aren't dressed properly, you'll be DROPPED from the class

If you are under eighteen years old, you will also need a parent or legal guardian present to sign your waiver form. Once they do that, they are free to leave, and you'll be good to go! Rest, Food, and Water
Make sure you've had adequate rest and food before class. You will have a lunch break, there are no restaurants in the area so pack your own lunch. We suggest you bring Gatorade or a similar electrolyte replacement and water. We have limited quantities of bottled water, please plan to bring your own. Bring snacks based upon your needs. There are no vending machines available at or near the range.
Understanding Expectations
If you come prepared, we'll make every effort to guide you successfully through the BRC. However, please understand that not every student successfully completes the course. If you are unable to meet the objectives of an exercise or if you pose a safety risk to yourself or others, a RiderCoach may counsel you out of the course. There is NO GUARANTEE that you will pass the course.
Cancellation / Reschedule Policy (As listed in the Terms and Conditions)
Safe Rider Inc. must receive cancellation/rescheduling requests prior to fourteen calendar days before the start of the scheduled class. This is because we must request temporary passes to allow you access to Ft McCoy. Your RiderCoach will have the temporary pass for you.
All cancellation requests made prior to fourteen calendar days before the start of the scheduled class will incur a $40 processing fee. A refund will be made in the same form as the original payment; if a credit card was used that card will be credited. Please do not call Safe Rider Inc. if your scheduled class date is less than fourteen days away. If you cannot and do not attend your scheduled class you forfeit your registration and your registration fee.
If you need to cancel your registration, log in to your account, click on "Dashboard" and then click the "Drop Class" or "Refund" button. REMINDER: If you cancel you registration less than 14 days prior to the class, you will not receive a refund. If you need assistance with this, please call Safe Rider, Inc. at: (715) 299-7233.
Riding Skills Evaluation
Upon successful completion of the BRC2 License Waiver you will receive an MSF Completion Card. Be sure to take this card with you to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), when you go to get your motorcycle endorsement. The DMV will be notified of your successful completion.
Students who do not pass the Riding Skills Evaluation may take the course again when it is offered. However, it is highly recommended that a student who does not pass the Riding Skills Evaluation in the BRC2 enroll in the Basic Rider Course.
Being Counselled-Out
Learning to safely operate a motorcycle is both mentally and physically demanding. It requires a great deal of coordination and control of hands, feet, body, and mind. Not everyone develops these skills at the same pace, and some individuals may find it impossible to reach an adequate level of skill. Range exercise 1 is an evaluation of your current abilities. If your RiderCoach believes that you may have difficulty with the remainder of the course, you may be asked to consider the Basic Rider Course instead of continuing.

REFUNDS: Absolutely no refunds will be given under any circumstances within fourteen days of the start of the BRC. Absolutely no refunds will be given for the BRC2 under any circumstance.

RESCHEDULE REQUESTS: There is no rescheduling after fourteen days prior to your scheduled class. All cancellation requests made prior to fourteen calendar days before the start of the scheduled class will incur a $40 processing fee If you fail to attend any of the class sessions you have enrolled for, you will forfeit your seat.

Enrollment for the BRC, BRC2, or 3WBRC does not guarantee completion of the course. Students may be counseled out of the course if they fail to progress at the required pace or if they pose a safety risk to themselves or to others.

Students under the age of eighteen MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the beginning of the first session. The parent or guardian must show identification and sign the waiver that permits the student to attend class. After the waiver is signed, the parent or guardian is free to leave. The ONLY acceptable alternative is to have the waiver form Notarized prior to reporting to the classroom.

BRC, 3WBRC, and BRC2 License Waiver students must bring proof of completion of the MSF eCourse to the first session. Students who fail to provide proof of completion prior to the end of the weekend will receive an incomplete for the course and will not be issued a License Skill Test Waiver. The student will have 3 business days to provide the office with proof of completion; otherwise, the student will fail. The MSF eCourse must be taken within 30 days of your class.

Students must be dressed as follows for the range sessions: sturdy, over the ankle footwear; denim pants or a similarly durable material approved by a RiderCoach with no holes; and long‐sleeved shirt, full finger gloves, eye protection and helmet. BRC2 students must abide by the above guidelines as well. If a personal helmet is used, it must be ¾ coverage or full faced and meet DOT standards. The site will provide a helmet to a student who brings a non‐DOT approved helmet.

Students who are counseled out or who miss a session may reschedule a repeat class with Safe Rider Inc. later in the season if there is a course available at a reduced tuition. Please contact Safe Rider Inc. 715-299-7233 for scheduling. Not available for class no-shows.

Students who do not pass the riding skills evaluation are permitted to retake the course at a reduced cost. Please contact Safe Rider Inc. 715-299-7233 for scheduling. They may retake the entire course at a later date within the same year if there is a course available.

Riding Skills Evaluation
Students who do not pass the Riding Skills Evaluation will be allowed to re-take the course at a discounted tuition if another course is available. To schedule a re-take of the course you are required to make the arrangements with Safe Rider Inc. office staff at (715) 299-7233.
Upon successful completion of the 3WBRC you will receive an MSF Completion Card. Be sure to take this card with you to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), when you go to get your motorcycle endorsement. The DMV will be notified of your successful completion. This class will allow you to be licensed to ride a 3-wheel motorcycle only. Your license will show that restriction.

Your RiderCoach wants to see you succeed, but if they feel you have become a danger to yourself, or others, they may ask you to return at a later date. This opportunity is provided at a reduced cost. You must contact the office at (715) 299-7233 to reschedule.
Remember this course will be taken on your own motorcycle.
If you borrow or rent a 3-wheel motorcycle to participate in this class, you will need to provide proof from the owner that you have permission to use/operate it. Including proof of insurance and registration.

The site will provide a helmet to a student who brings a non‐DOT approved helmet.

Students who are counseled out or who miss a session may reschedule a repeat class with Safe Rider Inc. later in the season if there is a course available at a reduced tuition. Please contact Safe Rider Inc. 715-299-7233 for scheduling. Not available for class no-shows.

Students who do not pass the riding skills evaluation are permitted to retake the course at a reduced cost. Please contact Safe Rider Inc. 715-299-7233 for scheduling. They may retake the entire course at a later date within the same year if there is a course available.
