Ride Smart
Electric bikes are faster, heavier, and more powerful than traditional bicycles—and riding them safely requires more than basic bike skills. Be Crash Free’s E-Bike Safety Course is designed to give riders the knowledge, judgment, and hands-on skills they need to ride confidently and responsibly in real-world conditions.
This course focuses on crash prevention, not just rules. Riders learn how to manage speed, anticipate hazards, and interact safely with cars, pedestrians, and other cyclists. Through a mix of guided instruction and practical riding exercises, participants build the awareness and decision-making skills that reduce risk before a crash ever happens.

What Riders Learn
Participants are trained on the unique characteristics of e-bikes and how those differences affect safety, including:
-
Safe acceleration, braking, and cornering at higher speeds
-
Hazard recognition and defensive riding strategies
-
Proper lane positioning and intersection behavior
-
Traffic laws and responsibilities for e-bike riders
-
Helmet use, visibility, and equipment safety
-
Risk factors such as distraction, speed, and mixed-traffic environments

How the Course Works
The course combines short classroom sessions with hands-on riding practice, allowing riders to apply what they learn in controlled, supportive settings. Instruction is age-appropriate and emphasizes practical skills riders can use immediately on streets, paths, and shared spaces.
Courses can be delivered through schools, community organizations, or partner programs and are adaptable to local riding environments.

Who It’s For and Why It Matters
This course is for youth and teens new to e-bikes, first time e-bike riders of any age and families looking to build safe riding habits.
The importance of safe e-bike riding cannot be understated. E-bike use is growing rapidly, and so are e-bike-related injuries. Education is one of the most effective ways to reduce risk for riders—especially young and inexperienced ones. Be Crash Free’s E-Bike Safety Course equips riders with the skills and confidence they need to make safer choices every time they ride
